Paul Chuckle takes to twitter to comfort fans he’s still alive as older brother dies

The veteran entertainer took to social media to confirm to confused fans he’s still alive and kicking after his older brother Jimmy Patton passed away this week.

Paul Chuckle, who found fame as one half of comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers with sibling Barry, denied reports he had died.

It’s been a sad year for Paul after his much-loved brother Barry Chuckle died last August after a period of ill health.

Less than a year later, Barry’s older sibling Jimmy Patton passed away aged 84.

Fans took to social media and wrote a slew of “RIP” messages to Paul.

One shellshocked fan wrote: “Bro how was I planning today to see Paul Chuckle in Sheffield next month and he’s just died. RIP Paul.”

However, Paul, who’s still very much on planet earth, dispelled the rumours and reassured fans he’s safe and well.

Posting a response to the gutted fan, he put: “No I’m alive and kicking. My brother Jimmy died.”

Jimmy is the older brother of Chuckle Brothers Barry and Paul, and appeared in the show ChuckleVision frequently during its run from 1987 to 2009.

The show, which ran for 21 seasons, featured Jimmy play a character called “No Slacking” – named so after the catchphrase he repeated throughout the episodes.

They posted: “Just thought I’d let you know that the Chuckle Brothers older brother Jimmy Patton has sadly passed away.

“Jimmy was a big part of Chucklevision and the stage shows where he played the character No Slacking.

“RIP Jim Lad. And No Slacking.”
