Patrice Evra suggests 'little brother' Paul Pogba should secure Man Utd transfer exit

Patrice Evra reckons the time may have come for his ‘little brother’ Paul Pogba to leave Manchester United – because he has become a problem player.

Pogba has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid or Juventus , while last summer he said it would be “a dream” to move to the Bernabeu.

The World Cup-winning midfielder is currently sidelined following ankle surgery, having missed most of United’s campaign so far due to injury.

Evra has previously described Pogba as being “like a brother” having played with the midfielder for United, Juventus and France.

And the former Red Devils left-back says Pogba has been made a scapegoat for United’s problems this season – whether he has been playing or not.

Paul Pogba always gets the blame for United’s problems, according to former team-mate Patrice Evra

“Paul, when he’s playing, people blame Paul; when he’s not playing, people blame Paul,” said Evra on Sky Sports, responding to Roy Keane’s assertion that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should “get rid” of players who were a “nuisance”.

Evra then brought up the example of his own ignominious exit from Marseille, when the defender’s contract was terminated by mutual consent in November 2017 following a seven-month Uefa ban for kicking out at one of the club’s own fans.

He added: “But I understand, sometimes I don’t agree with Roy, but when you are a problem for the club… I give my example, when I kicked that fan in Marseille, the owner and the manager, they came and said: ‘Patrice, what are we going to do now?’

“And I said: ‘I’m leaving.’ I don’t want to bring any negativity around the club, and right now, maybe it will be time for Paul to leave, because I remember when it was a big game, Liverpool vs Manchester United, people were talking more about Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba.

“This is insulting, for the two biggest clubs in the world to be talking about one player and one manager, that’s why sometimes I think it’s time, because when you play, they blame you, when you [don’t] play, they blame you.”
