3 TRICKS TO HELP YOURS
COUNTDOWN host Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon is standing in for Rachel Riley while she is on maternity leave.
She passed maths GCSE while at primary school and authored kids’ book How To Be a Maths Whizz.
Here she tells NIKKI WATKINS tips for helping with homework.
- Let kids teach you what they do know and how they learn it at school. Building their confidence will help, so let them enjoy a win. This is great bond-building, too, and shows respect.
- Mistakes are the best way to learn. So let your child make errors as they do homework.
- Your child’s school may have resources to help you teach them. Your local council, library or college may help too. Organisations like nationalnumeracy.org.uk can also help you with your own maths issues.
