A device found inside the House of Lord which briefly led to warnings to avoid the area was “non-suspicious”, according to police.
Police were called to Parliament after a package wad found, leading them to ask staff and peers to avoid the area.
The Mirror understands that it was package containing computer equipment which was checked by police, and it is believed to have been innocent.
In a tweet the Met Police said: “Happy to update item found at Old Palace Yard, SW1 at 1553hrs on Wednesday, 6 March near the House of Lords has now been assessed and deemed non-suspicious.”
Security in a number of locations in London remains heightened after three packages containing incendiary devices were delivered to three transport hubs yesterday.
