Savannah Blum was struggling to cope when a thoughtful flight attendant came and took 19-month-old daughter Brittain off her hands on a flight from Las Vegas to Reno in Nevada.

In a Facebook post that has now gone viral, the exhausted parent shared a video of the Southwest Airlines employee – known only as Jessica – carrying her child up and down the cabin to calm her down.

The American primary school teacher revealed that she had just boarded a connecting flight after visiting family in Austin, Texas when the concerned woman approached her.

She said: “Come here, baby. I got her, Mama. You go sit down.”

The air hostess picked Brittain up and carried her up and down the plane to soothe her while closing the overhead storage units and settling other fliers.

In fact the heartwarming gesture calmed the toddler down so much that she began blowing kisses to fellow passengers.

The sweet moment was caught on camera by her grateful mum.

In the background other passengers could be heard going “awww”.

The airline told NBC New York that its crew “take great pride in delivering our legendary Southwest Hospitality, so it’s not surprising that one of our amazing flight attendants shared her Southwest Heart while helping to care for one of our youngest customers in such a sweet, fun way!”
