Overprotective mum asks why there’s only one bed when daughter, 18, sends a snap of her and her boyfriend’s hotel room

AN 18-YEAR-OLD who was enjoying a night away with her boyfriend, has revealed how her mum messaged her in confusion, after noticing there was “just one bed” in a snap of their hotel room.

After arriving at the Premier Inn with her boyfriend Dean, Caitlin sent her mum, Jeananne, an image of the double room – which also had a sofa just beside it – but was shocked when her mum asked why they hadn’t booked separate beds.

Caitlin and Dean were staying at Premier Inn in Edinburgh, where they were enjoying a night away to see Frankie Boyle.

But mum Jeananne was not impressed with the sleeping arrangements.

“Shame Dean has to sleep on the couch. At least it’s not the floor. Told you to make sure it was a twin x,” she wrote.

Posting a screengrab of the messages on Twitter, Caitlin said: “Night in Edinburgh with my boyfriend and my mum thinks I’m still 12.”

And social media found it hilarious, with the tweet receiving over 40,000 likes and nearly 2,000 retweets.

“When I went on holiday with my boyfriend my mum wanted pics of the room being two single beds (it was a double),” wrote one user.

“I ignored her. If you’re an adult your mum can’t tell you what to do with stuff like that.”

While another said: “That’s why you don’t send photos.”

According to Caitlin, her mum was quite surprised about the tweet going viral.

She said: “I sent it to a few of my friends and they found it hilarious so I decided to post it on twitter thinking I’d get maybe 50 likes from friends.”

According to Caitlin, Jeananne was only joking in her messages.

“Basically my mum was having a laugh before we went, about making sure it was two beds and after sending her a picture of the room she continued to make a joke about how there was only one,” she explained.

“She never thought it would be as funny as it’s turned out to be.

“She’s very modest but I think secretly she’s loving to the attention it’s getting!”
