- OverActive Media has acquired esports-centric events company MediaXP, and formed its own OAM LIVE division as a result.
- OAM LIVE will offer partners “an end-to-end solution” for esports and gaming events and broadcasts,” said CEO Chris Overholt.
- MediaXP founder Ken Silva has joined OverActive Media in an unspecified role.
OverActive Media today announced the acquisition of Toronto-based esports live events company, MediaXP, which will be integrated within the newly-formed OAM LIVE events production division.
OAM Live is the latest addition to the rapidly-expanding company, which owns Splyce
“This is yet another step forward in our effort to build a world-leading, global esports platform that will redefine the future of sports and entertainment,” said OverActive Media president and CEO Chris Overholt, in a release. “The launch of OAM LIVE will progress our business growth by providing future partners, publishers, and brands with an end-to-end solution for gaming events and esports broadcasts.”

Founded in 2015, MediaXP has worked with such brands as Red Bull Canada and Dome Productions (owned by Bell Media and Rogers Media). MediaXP founder Ken Silva has joined OverActive Media as part of the move, although his title has not yet been announced. Silva’s past experience also includes roles as the director at ESL
