Outriders teased for Xbox Game Pass with fake email

The official Twitter for Xbox Game Pass has shared a supposed email that seems to tease Outriders being added to the service.

Square Enix’s Outriders is set to be one of the biggest new games of the year, when it launches on April 1, with a playable demo already having been released last month.

Xbox owners thinking of getting the game, though, may want to hold off for the time being, as it’s now suspected that it will be added to Game Pass.

This comes from the official Game Pass Twitter account, which shared an obviously fake email from one Melissa McGamepass. All it mentions is that a new game is coming to the service, but the email ends with ‘Has anyone else noticed a mysterious signal appearing in the distance lately or am I the anomaly in this situation?’

Considering Outriders tasks players with tracking down a mysterious signal and it features an energy storm called the Anomaly, which is responsible for granting people superpowers, it coming to Game Pass seems like the obvious conclusion. It’s certainly a popular opinion judging by the fan responses.

There’s nothing to indicate when it will be added but, with Outriders launching in April, it could very well arrive on Game Pass around the same time or shortly after launch.

One game that has unequivocally been confirmed for Game Pass is strategy game Empire Of Sin, aka XCOM with 1920s Chicago gangsters. The game’s Twitter account says that it will be added this week on March 18.

Empire Of Sin didn’t review particularly well at launch but there have been some pretty meaty patches since then and being on Game Pass it means the only thing it’s going to cost now is your time.

Outriders will launch on April 1 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Empire Of Sin is available on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
