Outlander viewers don’t have much longer to wait for the next season of the show, which is due to arrive in February 2020. With so much going on in the new episodes, filming came right down to the wire, with reshoots being announced earlier this year.
Earlier this week the cast began posting images of the final instances of filming for the fifth season.
While the official Outlander Instagram account posted an image of Jamie Fraser star Sam Heughan and Murtagh star Duncan Lacroix, Duncan himself also posted.
The star wrote a farewell to his crew and fellow cast members ahead of the show’s release.
He gleefully captioned the image: “That’s it folks.

“A final wrap on Season five of Outlander @outlander_starz Here with my erstwhile Godson @samheughan.
“Can’t wait for you all to see Season five which kicks off on Starz February 16th 2020!!! Much Murtagh love to you all x.”
While this may seem like an ordinary goodbye from the actor, could it in fact be something a little more?
Duncan’s goodbye seemed a little more final and could indeed be referencing his character’s death in the upcoming episodes.
Murtagh was originally killed off in the books years ago – so his life is not guaranteed in the show. Could this be his final venture?
Fans of the show instantly began praising the actors for their work, and spoke about their excitement to see the show begin again.
One wrote: “Congrats on your season 5 wrap!! Canna wait to watch. “
Another joked: “Glad to see you both are still around at the end of season 5! Or are you…?”
Meanwhile, fans of the show have been theorising whether Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) has extra hidden powers.
Reddit user PhatWalda recently wrote: “There are several instances sprinkled into the third season of Claire having a ‘sixth sense’ or sort of clairvoyance.”
The user then went on to speak about season three’s fifth episode, Freedom and Whisky.
They explained: “Claire arrives back in the past to find Jamie. She gently but meaningfully touches the ‘A’ on his sign for his print shop, and seems to have one of those moments where she is feeling his presence.”
This scene isn’t given too much time for viewers to think about, however Jamie then goes on to do something similar in the following episode.
They continued: “Jamie is going about his day, and stops outside his shop to polish up his sign.
“Which letter does he spit-shine and polish with his hands, you ask? Why, none other than the ‘A’ that Claire lingers on later.”
This has led viewers to believe Claire has some sort of clairvoyant power, which sees her being able to spot things that have happened or will happen.
If Claire’s secret power is real, it could become pivotal in upcoming seasons.
Outlander season 5 will air on Amazon Prime Video on February 16, 2020.
