Our childhoods are ruined as viral TikTok unearths very adult jokes in classic kids’ films

Millennials around the world are gasping as a viral TikTok account is fast unearthing all kinds of very adult and X-rated moments we most definitely missed in children’s films growing up.

This week a video on an account by the name of @kathy_martinez05 went gangbusters as it pointed out a rather risque moment from 2001 film Shrek that appeared to depict Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow) becoming a little, er, excited by the image of intended wife, Princess Fiona.

Something we clearly missed while watching it as youngens, though, is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment where a bulge seems to pop up under his duvet as the villain pinches the sheets, looks under and makes an uncomfortable face.

Thankfully the TikTok user zoomed in to really highlight the moment. Very helpful, cheers.

They captioned the clip: ‘Did anyone catch that?’ as punters reacted to the very adult moment in the Pixar animation.

Fans were rattled as one said they were ‘traumatised’ after being alerted to the scene, as another asked: ‘Who agreed to animate that?’

Another innocently noted: ‘When I was younger I thought he spilt his drink.’

That video now has over 1.6million views, with other videos on the account fast gaining fans in the hundreds of thousands as it reveals dirty moments in Toy Story, The Cat In The Hat and Cars.

Or there’s the moment in Happy Feet which saw a pair of penguins essentially run through the karma sutra, according to one TikTok user, as they fell on the ice. But you wouldn’t have noticed that as a kid, we hazard a guess.

Children’s films harbouring a bunch of adult jokes is no new concept, but we continue to have the classics laid bare before us as we get older – with Cardi B also falling victim to having an iconic movie ruined. Or made. Depends which way you look at it, we suppose.

The rapper, who has a two-year-old daughter, Kulture, with Offset, received an education via meme this week when someone had shared an element of Toy Story that was most definitely directed at the parents sitting through the 1995 children’s flick.

If you need a little refresher on the characters of the iconic animation, Legs, one of antagonist Sid’s toys, is a fishing rod with Barbie legs.

Innocent enough, right?

Well, turns out there is a little (not so) hidden meaning behind Legs, who is a hybrid toy of Sid’s, as it’s supposed to be a ‘hooker’ in the most literal form, as a toy who can hook things, but also it has a double entendre, referring to a sex worker.

While this detail probably ruined our childhood feelings towards the film long ago, WAP rapper Cardi only discovered this detail upon witnessing a meme overnight.

Sharing the rather informative slide to Twitter, she wrote alongside it: ‘OMMMMGGGGGGGGG !!!! This the greatest knowledge ever!!!’
