Osher Günsberg has confirmed Bachelor in Paradise will remain a ‘family-friendly show’ – despite facing competition Channel Nine’s raunchy alternative, Love Island.

Speaking to TV Week on Monday, the franchise host said he is comfortable with the program’s content and insisted that it will remain appropriate for teenagers.

‘I’m happy we’re making the show we’re making,’ said Osher, 45. ‘I think it’s important to make a show you can watch as a family.’

Osher explained that Bachelor in Paradise can help parents and teenagers ‘start conversations about relationships’.

Without naming Love Island explicitly, he added: ‘We’ll leave the other things for other shows!’

Meanwhile, it’s not the first time Osher has praised the Bachelor franchise for its noble intentions.

Ahead of last year’s Bachelor in Paradise premiere, Osher emphasised how the show is focused on helping the singletons form lasting relationships.

‘Through the process people really do fall in love and really powerfully so,’ he told the Australian Associated Press in March 2018.

The first season of Love Island Australia featured several raunchy scenes, including sexually-charged challenges and late-night romps.

Justin Lacko even said that Eden Dally and Erin Barnett’s loud romps were keeping the other contestants awake at night.

‘I am quite old school and I kind of feel like there is a time and a place for that and it definitely is not in the company of others,’ he said last year.
