After Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig had the best possible time presenting the award for best production design at the Oscars 2020, fans have been calling for the duo host next year’s ceremony.

The two Saturday Night Live veterans walked up to the microphone super ‘upset’ and started a whole bit about being ‘ticked off’ before revealing that they were acting.

‘Guys, we’re not mad,’ Wiig explained as spoke to the audience. ‘That was an act.’

‘We were acting,’ Rudolph added.

‘We just know there are a lot of directors here tonight,’ Wiig said.

Rudolph added: ‘We just wanted them to know we do more than comedy.’

They weren’t done there as they began breaking into songs like Vogue and Thong Song (which Billie Eilish really hated) and fans really loved it.

In fact, many just want the Oscars to have a host again.

Oscars 2020 audiences want Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig to host next year

One fan tweeted: ‘I definitely believe that Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph should host the #Oscars next year. They are SO awesome and funny!’

‘Petition to have @TheEllenShow or Maya Rudolph & Kristen Wiig to host #TheOscars next year,’ another posted.

A viewer commented: ‘This show needs a host. These random musical interludes and people introducing the presenters are terrible. Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig would be great.’

If we get a host for next year’s awards show, can we also bring back another super random performance?

Viewers and attendees at the 2020 Oscars were treated to a surprise performance by Eminem, who performed his 2002 hit Lose Yourself.

The rapper, 47, popped up from the Oscars stage to entertain the crowds and prompted some interesting reactions – including Martin Scorsese appearing to have a small nap in the middle of it.
