The nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards were announced on Monday morning with Joker and The Irishman leading the pack.
But there were several big names left off the list shocking fans.
Jennifer Lopez was the most noticeable. The 50-year-old diva had picked up a Golden Globe nomination for her turn as hardened stripper Ramona in the drama Hustlers, but the Oscars failed to add her to the list.

Lopez had also been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, an Independent Spirit Award and a nod from the Palm Springs Film Festival, which she won, so an Oscar nomination felt feasible. But it did not come to be.
Instead, the nominees for Best Supporting actress went to Kathy Bates in Richard Jewell; Laura Dern in Marriage Story; Scarlett Johansson in Jojo Rabbit; Florence Pugh in Little Women; and Margot Robbie in Bombshell.
Nicole Kidman did not receive a nomination for her work in the drama Bombshell though her co-star Margot Robbie did in the Best Supporting Actress category. The film’s Charlize Theron was nominated for Best Actress.

Bye bye: Awkwafina was also not noticed for The Farewell, though she did win a Golden Globe Award for the role

Lupita Nyong’o did not get a nod for her film Us.
Instead, the nominees for Best Actress are: Cynthia Erivo in Harriet; Scarlett Johansson in Marriage Story; Saoirse Ronan in Little Women; Theron in Bombshell; and Renée Zellweger in Judy.
Jamie Foxx did not get recognized in the Best Supporting Actor category for his work in Just Mercy. And Adam Sandler was ignored for his work in Uncut Gems.

Rather, Brad Pitt was noticed for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci for The Irishman, Tom Hanks for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Anthony Hopkins for The Two Popes.
Greta Gerwig was left out of the Best Director category for her work on Little Women, though the film was nominated for Best Picture.
The list was made up of all men: Jong Joon-ho for Parasite, Sam Mendes for 1917, Todd Phillips for Joker, Martin Scorsese for The Irishman and Quentin Tarantino, for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
