Orlando Bloom confirms missing dog Mighty has died and reveals tribute tattoo

Orlando Bloom has announced the death of his beloved dog Mighty after the pet went missing last week.

The actor, 43, shared the sad news on Instagram after Mighty disappeared from his home in Montecito, California, and revealed that he has had a new tattoo inked on his chest in memory of the dog.

The Lord of the Rings star said that Mighty is “on the other side now” after he found the dog’s collar following “7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset.”

Bloom said he has “wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing,” adding that he “left no stone unturned” in the search and “searched every back yard and creek bed” with the help of “two separate sniffer dogs.”

The star went on to thank his neighbours for allowing him to “search through their yards for him and supporting my midnight walks” and said that he had seen “the best of people even in the worst of times.”

Bloom also shared a series of photos of his new tattoo of his dog’s name on his chest, as well as a picture of a gravestone engraved with the message “Wish you were here” and a silhouette of himself carrying Mighty.

The actor announced his search for the missing pet, who he adopted back in 2017, on social media last week, revealing that Mighty’s loss felt like a “waking nightmare.”

Bloom, whose fiancée Katy Perry is currently expecting the couple’s first child, also has another poodle named Nugget.
