Oritse Williams has opened up about his ’emotional’ new music following the ‘hardest moment’ of his life after being accused of rape.

The 32-year-old singer, known for being a member of JLS, was found not guilty in May this year of raping a 20-year-old woman at a Wolverhampton hotel in December 2016.

‘The music that I’ve made tells quite a story,’ he told The Mirror. ‘I’ve made this music in the hardest time of my life – this is new music.’

Oritse added: ‘My music’s about my life and my experiences over the last few years, so you know, whatever that entails.’

‘It’s very emotional, I put my soul into it you know, I put my heart and my soul into it,’ he said.

He then revealed his new music is nothing like the music he created with JLS.

‘It’s very personal, it’s very deep, it’s – how can I say – it’s very intimate music, it’s very in-depth,’ he said.

‘I can’t say any more than that, it’s me – it’s just me in my truest, most honest, most purest form you know, it’s just me.’

Opening up to Good Morning Britain last month, Oritse said the past three years have been ‘horrific’.

He said: ‘I haven’t been able to work for three years. I had this accusation hanging over my head every single day, every time I wake up in the morning to every time I go to sleep at night.

‘It’s just completely tormented me.’

He continued: ‘But I had two choices – either I could let it drag me under and completely destroy me or I could stay strong and hope the truth would eventually come out, and ultimately it did.’

Oritse revealed the worst effect the accusation had was on his family.

He said: ‘I tried to protect my mother from the whole thing but when you’re in the public eye, I can’t stop…

‘My family are so loving and I’ve had so much unconditional love and support from them all, and my friends, even members of the public.

‘The fans have been absolutely amazing, they have come out and they’ve all openly supported me as well on social media. But it has been trial by social media.’
