Oritse Williams cleared of rape: JLS star Marvin Humes says ‘three years of hell is over’ in message of support for ‘brother’

Marvin and Rochelle Humes have posted messages of support for former JLS star Oritse Williams after the singer was cleared of rape.

The former boyband star was found not guilty of rape by a jury earlier today, after he was accused of attacking a woman in a hotel room after a gig in 2016.

Williams said he was “perplexed” by the allegation as he insisted that the sex had been consensual.

Marvin, who shot to fame alongside bandmates Williams, Aston Merrygold and JB Gill on the 2008 series of The X Factor, praised his friend and “brother” for his “conduct” during “three years of hell.”

Sharing a photo of Williams smiling, he wrote: “Cleared.. Not Guilty! Finally my brother @oritsemusic three years of hell is over! No-one will ever know or imagine what he’s been through…

“I’m just so proud of the way he conducted himself during what has been the most awful time.. he is so strong and I know he can’t wait to start his life again now.. We love you O.”

His wife Rochelle posted a photo of herself standing with Williams at an event together, praising her “thoughful brother”.

The singer wrote: “This here is our brother, one of the kindest, most gentle, thoughtful men I know. Today he was cleared NOT guilty after 3 years of absolute hell.

“I’m so proud of how you have conducted yourself throughout this time, I really don’t think I could have held myself in the same way. Reesh we love you so much and I’m writing this crying so many happy tears, it’s over.”
