Ori And The Blind Forest: Definitive Edition has been announced for Nintendo Switch, alongside a slew of other indie titles.
In Nintendo’s latest Indie World Direct, the company announced the 2015 platform adventure title, previously a Microsoft exclusive, will release 27 September on Switch.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Ori And The Blind Forest is a Metroidvania game bolstered by excellent visuals and a heart-wrenching story, with the definitive edition packing two new areas, a hard mode, and behind-the-scenes videos.
It’s a clear sign we might also see the game’s sequel Ori And The Will Of The Wisps on Switch at some point too, which is set to be released on Xbox One and PC in February 2020.
It marks another notable step for the growing partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo, after Cuphead was released on Switch and Banjo & Kazooie was unveiled as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character.
There was other welcome surprises in the Direct too, including Superhot and a Hotline Miami collection containing both games available on Switch from today.
Other notable highlights include Risk Of Rain 2, Earth Night, Skellboy, The Touryst, and a new skateboarding game sim titled Skater XL.
Outside of Nintendo’s presentation, Streets Of Rage 4 was also announced for all platforms in a trailer to show off new character Cherry Hunter.
Cherry is the daughter of Adam Hunter from the original Streets Of Rage – with this new entry marking the first core game in the franchise for 25 years.
While no precise release date was given, Streets Of Rage 4 will release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
