Orange Is The New Black star Laura Prepon has confirmed the birth of her second child, posting a gorgeous photo of her kissing the little one’s hand.
She shared the image on social media, telling her followers: ‘Welcoming home our new bundle of love. Overwhelmed with gratitude.’
Laura, 39, who stars as Alex Vause in OITNB, revealed she had given birth just a day after telling her followers she was going on ‘maternity leave’ from her YouTube channel for a while.
She told her fans: ‘Hey guys, I am going on maternity leave. This little bun in the oven is cooked and will be joining us any day now.
‘So I’m not going to be posting videos on YouTube for three to four weeks, I will still be active a little bit on social media.’
However, it looks like she didn’t get to spend long on her maternity leave before the little one made an appearance, as she shared her happy news on Wednesday.
She shared a photo of her cradling the newborn as she kissed its little hand, and fans flooded her comments with good wishes for the whole family.
Laura had announced the pregnancy in October, sharing a photo with her two-year-old daughter Ella, telling her followers: ‘We are so excited to announce that our family is growing. Life is beautiful! #knockedup’.
Laura and her husband, Ben Foster, have been married since 2018 and the two actors live together in New York.
She previously revealed that she got involved with directing after becoming a mother, but realised working on set was far less stress than looking after a little person.
Laura told IBTIMES : ‘I feel like the thing that really actually changed my directing was becoming a mother, truthfully.
‘For me, after becoming a mother, you’re so terrified and stressed out about protecting this little being that you’re obsessed with and that you love. And there was a lot of stress around that because I just didn’t know as a first-time mom.
‘So when I directed after that I was like, “I know what real stress is now.” I know what it actually means to be stressed and scared about keeping this little baby safe.’
She also previously opened up about the challenges of balancing a career and being a mum, explaining: ‘Ben and I are really great about if I’m at work, he’s [at home], and if he’s at work, I’m [at home].
‘[But] I do feel guilty, and I just know that she’d be proud if she knew. I’ve talked to a bunch of women [asking], “How do you do this?” And they’re just like, “There’s really no solution. You just do it.”‘
