The group of five gained popularity during their time on The X Factor, and in the years since gaining chart-topping success.
After going global, the group eventually went their separate ways after years of performing, with Zayn Malik being the first to leave the band.
Having left in 2015, the rest of the band went their separate ways in 2016, and announced their hiatus, with plans to return eventually.
Now, it appears that their elusive reunion is going to contain completely different tracks than what fans are used to, with each of the five guys heading in opposite music directions.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, Rochelle White, PR expert and agency owner spilled on her thoughts of when One Direction will make their return – and how it will happen.
She said: “With One Direction, each of them have had a decent solo career and made a name for themselves outside of the group.
“If they did get back together, even for a short while, it could be a mix of new music and direction.
“While they’ll still give fans what they want, the new music would likely portray their new sound, and it would be interesting to see.”

She added: “I don’t see it happening soon. I think it could be a few years in the making.”
While it doesn’t look like their reunion is on the cards just yet, it’s likely the group of guys are looking to stay solo for some time.
All of them are embarking on a music career, and Louis Tomlinson recently spent time as an X Factor judge, with Liam Payne as his guest judge.
Harry Styles has also thrown himself into acting, with a role on Dunkirk in 2017.

Meanwhile, Niall Horan and Zayn are both focusing on their music – and fans definitely appear to be happy about it.
Despite fans sharing their support for the group as solo artists, it’s likely they’re anticipating a reunion, and they’re hopeful it will come soon.
