Olympiacos vs Arsenal LIVE: Latest score, goals and updates from Europa League

Follow all the action live as Arsenal face a tough away test against Olympiacos in the Europa League round of 32.

Mikel Arteta’s reign finally seemed to ignite with a dominant 4-0 victory against Newcastle last weekend, with teenager Bukayo Saka starring again as Alexandre Lacazette ended his goal drought.

Olympiacos will provide a firm trial of that good feeling, though, with the Greek side having won two of their last three European ties against the Gunners. Follow all the action live below:

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal enjoy a long spell of possession, slowing things down and taking control again. Luiz gets bored, though, and decides to drive forward from defence and go for goal. His shot is pretty tame and rolls harmlessly wide.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

54 minutes

The hosts are just starting to look a little more threatening again. Valbuena’s cross from the left is nodded behind by Luiz, and the resulting corner is cleared at the near post by Lacazette.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

Camara tries a speculative effort from a long way out, which takes a deflection and is easily saved by Leno.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

A let off for Mustafi, who plays a terrible pass on the edge of his own box and almost gifts Olympiacos a chance. Xhaka makes a crucial tackle to stop the danger.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

51 minutes

Luiz does indeed go for goal, hitting a low, flat shot towards the bottom corner. It flashes just wide of the far post.

YELLOW CARD

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

50 minutes

Willock drives forward from midfield and is brought down by Bouchalakis, who goes into the book. Arsenal have a free kick a fair way out from goal, but Luiz might fancy this…

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

49 minutes

Saka slips a pass through to Lacazette in the box. He looks set to shoot on his left foot, but instead delays and allows Ba to come across and forcefully dispossess him. A feint appeal for a penalty from Lacazette is waved away.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

48 minutes

Arsenal look to continue their momentum from the end of the first half as Saka finds space on the left and crosses for Aubameyang. He can’t get the ball under the control, though. The conditions – it’s raining heavily in Athens – are making things a little more difficult for both sides.

KICK OFF

Olympiacos get us back underway!

Here’s Mark Critchley’s match report from tonight’s earlier game in Belgium:

The half-time scores elsewhere:

HALF TIME

That’s it for the first half. Arsenal will probably be quietly pleased with how this has gone. Olympiacos started at a ferocious pace and very nearly went in front early on. But Arteta’s side have, gradually, taken the sting out of the hosts and towards the end of the half looked the more dangerous team in attack.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

45+1 minutes

Two minutes of added time will be played.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

44 minutes

Arsenal have certainly established some control over the game towards the end of the half. They’re dominating the ball now and it’s been a while since Olympiacos posed any sort of attacking threat.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

43 minutes

Lacazette tries to pick out Aubameyang but his pass is intercepted. The ball bounces back towards the Frenchman, though, and he fires in a powerful first-time shot, which deflects over the bar. The corner that follows is cleared.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

41 minutes

Guendouzi goes to ground and looks in pain. He gets some attention from the physio but looks okay to carry on.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

37 minutes

Arsenal win a corner but Xhaka’s delivery is poor, sailing beyond everyone waiting in the box.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

35 minutes

The tempo of the game has certainly dropped since the early stages, and that should suit Arsenal. Saka is coming into the game more on the left, too. He curls an inviting cross towards Willock but the midfielder is penalised as he goes up for the header.

Olympiacos 0-0 Arsenal

31 minutes

Aubameyang, out on the right, sends the ball into the middle for Willock, who looks well-placed to get a shot off. The ball escapes him, though, and the chance is gone.

Algerian striker Hillal Soudani is out for the Greek side, while Bruno Gaspar is a doubt with a hamstring injury.

Line-ups

Olympiacos: Sa, Elabdellaoui, Semedo, Ba, Tsimikas, Bouchalakis, Camara, Guilherme, Masouras, El-Arabi, Valbuena

Arsenal: Leno; Mustafi, Sokratis, David Luiz, Saka; Guendouzi, Xhaka; Martinelli, Willock, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Prediction

The fortuitous Alexandre Lacazette goal in stoppage time against Newcastle will see the Frenchman confident once more, with the squad all seemingly buying into Arteta’s philosophy. We expect the Gunners to score away from home, but the Greek side have a strong home record after beating Red Star, giving Spurs a scare in a 2-2 draw and pushing Bayern in a 3-2 loss. We’ll opt for a 2-2 draw in Athens.
