Olivia Newton-John says 'every day is a gift' amid third breast cancer battle


Olivia Newton-John appeared on The One Show on Tuesday – where she assured fans one again how healthy she is feeling, despite her stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Appearing alongside her daughter Chloe Lattanzi – with whom she has recorded a duet – Olivia, 72, said: ‘I’m fine. I’ve been dealing with metastatic cancer for seven years – and every day is a gift.

I feel great. I use plant medicine and medicinal cannabis my husband grows for me and I feel wonderful!’

Chloe, 35, said: ‘We’ve been going through so much this past year. And we want to connect with people. Music is the way to do that.’

This follows Olivia’s update earlier this month on her condition.

The Grease star has had metastatic breast cancer three times, having battled the disease previously in 1992 and 2013.

‘Feeling great!’ the Grammy winner told People recently: ‘I don’t think I imagined living this long! I feel very blessed.’

She said: 'I feel great. I use plant medicine and medicinal cannabis my husband grows for me and I feel wonderful!'

On December 8, Olivia and her second husband John Easterling launched the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund to support research into plant medicine for cancer.

‘I’m very lucky to be married to a wonderful man who is a plant medicine man, and he has great knowledge,’ Newton-John gushed.

‘Now he’s growing medicinal cannabis for me, and it just has been wonderful. It helps me in every area.’

The British-born, Australia-raised blonde is excited to attend her daughter Chloe Lattanzi’s ‘small wedding’ to her fiancé of 10 years, James Driskill, later this year.

The LA-born 35-year-old and Driskill run their cannabis Laughing Dog Farm in Canby, Oregon; which they opened in 2016.

Chloe is Newton-John’s only child from her 11-year marriage to Xanadu castmate Matt Lattanzi, which ended in 1995.

On January 21, the mother-daughter duo dropped a duet called Window in the Wall, which which will be featured on Olivia’s upcoming duets album.

‘I was flattered and honored,’ Lattanzi said.

‘She could have asked anyone, and she asked me. That meant the world to me. It’s my dream job – I get to spend time with my favorite person.’

The DWTS Australia contestant used to raid her famous mother’s closet to wear her old movie costumes like her thigh-high Xanadu boots for Halloween.
