Olivia Newton-John wants you to know that she isn’t finished kicking cancer’s butt.

The 70-year-old commented on the ‘strange’ feeling of reading reports that she was dead, back in January, and confirmed that, to the contrary, she’s ‘doing really well’.

Grease actress Olivia has been battling cancer since 1992 but holds onto the hope that she will see the disease wiped out during her lifetime.

Speaking on Australia’s Today show on Monday, Olivia said: ‘It’s a very strange feeling to read that you’re dead – and almost impossible [to read] actually.’

Over Christmas, it was claimed that Olivia had just weeks to live but it wasn’t until false reports emerged that she had actually passed away that the actress felt like she had to step in.

Releasing a video at the turn of 2019, Olivia proved that she was very much alive when she quipped: ‘Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated… I’m doing great.’

In her interview this week, Olivia continued: ‘I thought I had to make light of it because this is just going to continue on and get worse and worse so that’s when I did the video [to say] I’m still here and doing great.’

With a health update, the actress added: ‘I’m doing really well. In fact I just had some tests done and I’m doing great thank you… My dream is that we’ll see an end to cancer in my lifetime.’

Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time in 2017, with a tumour being found on the base of her spine after the breast cancer metastasized to her sacrum.

The actress was first treated for breast cancer back in 1992 when she underwent chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy at the age of 43.

It was later revealed that she secretly battled cancer for a second time in 2013, the same year her sister Rona died from brain cancer.
