Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told he has big decision to make over David de Gea's future

The form of David de Gea will give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer serious food for thought, especially with Dean Henderson waiting in the wings, claims Matt Le Tissier.

Manchester United’s No 1 has endured a difficult 12 months but did put pen to paper on a lucrative long-term deal in the summer.

But pressure is again mounting with his last error coming in United’s first Premier League game back.

A Bruno Fernandes penalty helped Solskjaer’s side earn a share of the spoils against Tottenham in north London.

But had De Gea done better with Steven Bergwijn’s opener they may have left with all three points.

David de Gea’s error cost Man Utd on Friday night

The Spaniard was on the end of a scathing attack at half-time as United legend Roy Keane let rip.

De Gea’s role as No 1 has also come under the threat due to the impressive season had by United loanee Henderson at Sheffield United.

And Le Tissier reckons a changing of the guard in between the sticks is definitely a possiblity.

He said on Sky Sports. “You’d say, seeing the way that Dean Henderson has performed this season, that there would definitely be some thoughts forming in Ole’s mind as to who will be there No 1 goalkeeper next season.

Dean Henderson has been hugely impressive this term

“I do find it odd, for a goalkeeper of his quality and reputation, who also has a reputation for saving shots with his legs, that he didn’t just use his legs to save that shot that was coming straight at him.

“It was just a really odd way of doing things. A really odd technique.

“I think there will be definitely be some serious discussions about possibly making Henderson their number 1 next season.”

De Gea has also made errors leading to goals against Watford and Everton this term.

Meanwhile Henderson, behind the Blades defence, has a league best 11 clean sheets this season.
