Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Jesse Lingard’s impact at West Ham following his loan move from Manchester United.

Lingard had made just three appearances for United before he was allowed to join the Hammers on a temporary deal in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has made a quick impact sine joining West Ham with four goals and an assist in just six appearances.

And Solskjaer has been pleased with Lingard’s performances since his United exit.

‘Yes, for Jesse it has really worked out,’ said Solskjaer.

‘For David [Moyes] it has really worked out and for us as a club as well because we know that Jesse’s position is a No.10 and we have got Bruno [Fernandes] there, so for me it was a no-brainer to get Jesse a chance to prove himself and to play some football again.

‘And he has been really bright for them and he’s finally back to himself.’

Solskjaer has also praised the impact Amad Diallo has made after the Ivorian winger scored his first goal for United in their 1-1 draw with AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

‘It is a big change for him,’ said Solskjaer.

‘He has come over here by himself but he is coming into training every day and he is working really hard. He know he has a lot to learn.

‘He is an exciting talent but he’ll have to get used to the tempo and the quality and the level he is playing at now.

‘He didn’t play too much for Atalanta either so we are gradually giving him more and more but he has been hungry to learn and his appetite in training has been spot on.’
