Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 'dressing room rant' at Anthony Martial after Chelsea draw

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly let rip at Anthony Martial after Manchester United’s draw with Chelsea .

The Frenchman was an unused substitute in the draw at Old Trafford as Solskjaer turned to Alexis Sanchez instead to grab his side a winner.

Footage emerged of Martial during the warm-up, with the 23-year-old showing a distinct lack of effort while his teammates went through a series of drills.

The Mail reports Martial had been complaining of a bad back but the United boss was understandably unimpressed with the player.

It is suggested Solskjaer vented his anger at the United star in front of the other players in a dressing room rant at full-time.

Martial had been first choice when Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford but his performance levels have dipped in recent weeks.

And the United boss admitted earlier this month that he had held talks with Martial over his displays.

Ahead of the defeat to Everton , Solskjaer said: “I’ve spoken to individuals and Anthony is one I’ve spoken to, they know what we expect from them.

“Anthony’s got a massive talent, got a new contract, he knows we believe in him, so just keep working.

“I think anyone that plays for Manchester United has to deliver to stay in the squad and stay in the team.

“Anthony is no different to Marcus Rashford or Romelu Lukaku or Alexis Sanchez or the many forwards we have to choose from.”

Martial may get a chance to redeem himself against Huddersfield this weekend, with Marcus Rashford struggling with a shoulder problem.

Lukaku is also believed to have sustained a hamstring injury during the draw with Chelsea.
