Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has indicated that Manchester United will complete at least one more signing before the start of the new season.

United completed the first signing of Solskjaer’s reign last month when Daniel James joined in an £18 million deal from Swansea City.

That was followed up last week when United completed their £50m move to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.

United remain in the market for a new central defender but their £70m offer for Harry Maguire has been rejected by Leicester City.

A new central midfielder is also on Solskjaer’s wanted list with Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff targeted.

And the United manager is hopeful that the club can complete a third signing this summer.

‘Well, it’s a long-term and it’s a short-term project. You cannot just think three years down the line, so we’ve got short-term goals as well, of course,’ Solskjaer told United’s official website.

‘I think we’ve been quite calm and good in the market as we’ve got the right people, and we’re still working on a case or two.

‘Of course, we’re always looking to improve the squad and, all over the summer, I’ve been in touch with Joel [Glazer] and Ed [Woodward] and all the recruitment people, and analysis people.

‘I’ve got to say it’s been very good so far. I’ve got the backing and we’ve got the people we wanted, for now, and there will probably be some more business being done.’
