Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident Aaron Wan-Bissaka has all the ingredients to become a huge success at Manchester United.

After weeks of protracted negotiations, the 21-year-old was finally confirmed as United’s second signing of the summer on Saturday after deal that could be worth up to £50million over the course of his five-year contract was agreed with Crystal Palace.

Solskjaer has already overseen the signing of Wales international winger Daniel James and is confident of adding Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff to his squad having identified the need to bring in young, British talent.

A need for a new right-back was deemed a priority given the departure of long-serving club captain Antonio Valencia last season and Ashley Young’s loss of form and Solskajer is delighted at having landed one of his primary targets.

He said: ‘Aaron is one of the best upcoming defenders in the Premier League. He has the right work ethic, talent and mentality to play for Manchester United and he fits exactly the type of player that we are looking to bring into the squad to help us improve and push on further.

‘Aaron is a young, hungry player and eager to learn and that’s important at his age.

‘I am delighted he has signed with us and we look forward to continuing his tremendous development so far.’
