Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is delighted to be able to give his Manchester United players a full week off before embarking on a training camp on Saturday.

The Red Devils drew 0-0 with Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday night, but dropped to seventh in the table after wins for Sheffield United and Tottenham.

The result left United with just one win in their last five Premier League outings, with the arrival of January signing Bruno Fernandes unable to spark them into life.

Solskjaer now has over two weeks between the Wolves stalemate and the next match, which comes away to Chelsea on Monday 17 February, and he is relishing the prospect of the break.

United are going on a warm weather training camp to an unconfirmed location, which the Manchester Evening News reports to be Marbella, and the manager sees it as an ideal time to integrate new signings Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo.

‘They’ll have a week or so off and we’ve got more days [rest] because we’re playing Chelsea on the Monday,’ said the Norwegian. ‘So we’ll get together on the Saturday [8 February] and we’ll have a good camp, working on different things.

‘Of course, we’ve got a few new players, hopefully we can integrate them into the squad. [The players] have been fantastic. We’ve had to, with all the injuries we’ve had, rely on many of these to maybe play more games than they should, and they’ve been brilliant.

‘Yes, we’ve had ups and downs, but it shows that we do miss the injured players so, yeah, it’ll be a nice break and I think it’s about time we had that in England. I think all teams will get their energy levels back.’

United will need to make the most of the break as they return to a hectic schedule thanks to the Europa League last 32 tie with Club Brugge beginning in Belgium just three days after the Chelsea match.

Solskjaer is hoping to have Paul Pogba available for the Chelsea game, having been struggling with an ankle problem since September, although Scott McTominay may take a little longer to recover from his knee injury.

Neither midfielder will be traveling to the training camp at the weekend.
