Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his squad about Club Brugge star Krepin Diatta and compared the speedy forward to Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.
The Red Devils’ last-32 Europa League clash against the Belgians is in the balance after the 1-1 draw they earned in last week’s first leg.
United are favourites to emerge but Brugge showed their potential in the Champions League this season when they earned a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, where they were ahead until the 86th minute until they went down to ten men.
Solskjaer’s side have kept five clean sheets in their last six matches but the Norwegian wants his team to be wary of 21-year-old Diatta, who is an international team-mate of Mane.
‘I know Diatta is back in, he is the most exciting player,’ said Solskjaer.
‘He tries things, he has got the X-factor, fantastic pace and balance. Similar to Sadio Mane,’
Diatta missed the first leg but is expected to start at Old Trafford having scored seven goals in all competitions for the Belgians this season.
United are still without Paul Pogba and no return date has been put on the Frenchman’s recovery from an ankle injury.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Axel Tuanzebe both trained with the squad on Wednesday but tomorrow’s match will come too soon for the pair.
