Aberdeenshire-based oil and gas services company Tendeka has appointed Renato Barbedo as its business development manager for South America.
He moves from Emerson Automation Solutions where he was business development manager for North America, based in Houston, Texas. Barbedo brings more than two decades of experience in upstream projects, including sand control, well construction and completions, upstream measurements, production optimisation and reservoir stimulation. The graduate of Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Brazil previously worked with Schlumberger.
Barbedo said: “With a vast range of technologies, there are many opportunities for Tendeka to grow its presence in South America and help operators solve various challenges. I’m proud to be given the opportunity to raise the profile of our products across the region.”
Westhill-headquartered Tendeka designs wells for companies and provides technology to overcome drilling challenges worldwide. Its Americas operations are based in Houston and it also has offices in Dubai and Malaysia.
Barbedo’s appointment follows the addition of Jim McGowin, VP for North & South America. McGowin added: “South America has a lot of potential for us and our technologies. Renato’s experience and knowledge of the region will be instrumental in becoming a trusted partner within the continent’s major players.”
