Official Avicii biography to be released in 2020

The announcement comes days after the anniversary of his death

A biography of Avicii’s life will be released next year, it was revealed this week. The announcement comes just days after the anniversary of his death.

Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ who went by the stage name Avicii, was found dead on April 20 last year. It was later confirmed he had taken his own life, aged 28.

The book will be written by Måns Mosesson – an award-winning journalist from Sweden. The writer has won awards such as the Prix Italia and the Stora Journalistpriset. Albert Bonniers Förlag, a Swedish publishing house, will publish the book.

All proceeds will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation – a charity being launched by Bergling’s parents to help others struggling with mental health. The late DJ’s family said the foundation will “initially focus on supporting people and organisations working in the field of mental illness and suicide prevention.” It will aim to look into supporting climate change activism, nature conservation and endangered species.

Avicii’s first posthumous track, ‘SOS’, was also released this month. It is currently Number 1 on the Official Trending Chart in Sweden and Finland, with proceedings from the song also being donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation.

Klaus Bergling, the artist’s father, accepted a posthumous award for his son at Sweden’s Grammy Gala, ‘Grammisgalan’, in February.

A tweet was also posted from the artists account on the anniversary of his death. The tweet said: “Forever in our hearts, minds and ears.”

The star’s family said their son’s entire posthumous album, ‘TIM’, will be released in June
