The studio behind horror title The Medium have another horror game, Observer: System Redux, coming to next gen consoles at launch.

While most peoples’ eyes have been on Bloober Team’s upcoming horror game The Medium, the studio has also been working hard on bringing another one of its titles to next gen hardware: Observer.

Initially released in 2017, Observer is a cyberpunk/horror game starring the late Rutger Hauer, of Blade Runner fame.

The next gen release, titled Observer: System Redux, will not only feature rebuilt graphics and other visual benefits, such as ray0tracing and 4K resolution, but will also include new gameplay mechanics, extra secrets, and some quality of life improvements.

There are three additional missions as well, called Errant Signal, Her Fearful Symmetry, and It Runs in the Family, which are said to add further depth to the game’s story.

What’s more, the game will cost exactly the same as it did when it originally released, with Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babineo explaining the reasoning behind this.

‘Now that both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 release dates are out there, we can finally share our release date news.

‘We know next gen pricing is a major concern for our fans and we feel that releasing all the new content and upgrades in Observer: System Redux at the same cost as the original Observer is a great way to stay close with our community.’

This does mean, however, that anyone who bought the original releases on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One isn’t entitled to a free upgrade.

At the very least, it could help horror fans pass the time until The Medium releases for Xbox Series X later in the year.

Observer: System Redux will release for Xbox Series X and PC on 10 November. It will release for PlayStation 5 on 12 November in North America and on 19 November in the UK.
