"Not A Dime In My Bank Is Inherited" – Kylie Jenner Defends Her Self-Made Billionaire Status

Ever since it was first whispered that Kylie Jenner‘s position as the founder of Kylie Cosmetics would make her the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, critics have questioned the validity of her self-made status. The 21-year-old might have made beauty her business but Kylie was born into a privileged family who went on – with her very much a part of – to create an empire.

Now, talking to Interview, Kylie has responded and shared her own thoughts on the matter. “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth,” she said. “That is the category that I fall under.”

“I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans,” she added, addressing the following she amassed from appearing on Keeping Up With The Kardashians since the age of nine.

“I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15,” Kylie explained, although it is likely she was earing a considerable wage from her TV role. “I used 100 per cent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited… and I am very proud of that.”

Kylie’s status as a billionaire was confirmed on March 5, four years after starting the direct-to-customer beauty business.
