Norwich vs Manchester United predicted line-ups: Team news and more ahead of Premier League fixture

Norwich City could dump further Premier League misery on Manchester United when the two sides meet at Carrow Road this weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s men held leaders Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last weekend, but it also extended their run of league games without a win to four.

United were also uninspiring in their Europa League victory over Partizan Belgrade, with Anthony Martial’s penalty the only shot they managed on target.

However, Norwich themselves have crashed back down to earth in recent weeks after beating Manchester City.

Daniel Farke’s side have lost three and drawn one since they beat Pep Guardiola’s men 3-2 in September.

Team news

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to deal with another week without Paul Pogba with the midfielder looking increasingly likely to be ruled out with his ongoing ankle issue.

The Frenchman has missed six of United’s last eight league games, but he could be the only high-profile omission at Carrow Road with David de Gea expected to return to the XI after missing the game in Belgrade.

Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic will be assessed after they worked on their fitness in Dubai, while doubts still remain about defenders Axel Tuanzebe and Diogo Dalot after they missed the trip to Serbia through injury.

Meanwhile Ben Godfrey is available once again for Norwich despite being substituted last weekend.

Godfrey complained of soreness against Bournemouth after a recent hernia operation but has recovered in time to feature.

The Canaries remain without Timm Klose, Mario Vrancic, Ralf Fahrmann, Grant Hanley and Christoph Zimmermann.

Prediction – Norwich 1-1 Manchester United

There have been just two wins each for these two sides in the Premier League this season, and neither have been delivering particularly stellar performances, even if Manchester United’s performance against Liverpool demonstrated grit and determination.

But there was no significant improvement from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League in midweek, in which Anthony Martial’s 43rd minute penalty was their only shot on target.

Norwich have shown they can rise to the big occasion having already beaten Manchester City this season, but results have been disappointing since then, having lost three and drawn one of their last four league games.

Daniel Farke has challenged his side to produce another “magical night”, but his side’s low confidence and Manchester United’s current ineptitude away from home could see this one finish as a stalemate.
