Sean Dyche’s Clarets are hoping to secure a top-10 finish against the Canaries
Norwich City host Burnley in the Premier League this afternoon.
Daniel Farke’s side’s relegation was confirmed after a miserable defeat by West Ham a week ago, with the Canaries having now lost all of their eight games since the restart.
Burnley’s hopes of securing an unlikely spot in next season’s Europa League have well and truly faded. However, the Clarets have still been in fine form since the restart, despite plenty of off-pitch turmoil, with Sean Dyche’s side undefeated in their last six games. Follow all the action below live:

“We showed great commitment and unity in a difficult situation [in the defeat by Chelsea]. We are not far away from picking up more points so hopefully we can get that today.
“The games are coming thick and fast. The lads performed well in the last game. Emiliano Buendia gives us one more attacking option on the pitch as we expect more possession than the one against Chelsea.
“It will be important to play on the front foot and hopefully we can do this.”
Nick Pope will be eager for Burnley to keep a clean sheet today. With 14 clean sheets in the Premier League this season he currently leads the race for the golden glove award.
Man City’s Ederson also has 14 clean sheets with Liverpool’s Alisson, Sheffield United’s Dean Henderson and Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel on 13 each.
In his pre-match interview Sean Dyche told Sky Sports:
“We’re really pleased. The mentality has been superb. We know we’ll have to show all the qualities we have been doing again today.
“Nick Pope’s continuing to develop his all-round game and not just stopping the ball going in the net. There’s people in front of him defending well.
“We are certainly not taking this lightly and the players are ready for whatever faces us today.”
Norwich have already gained a record byt being relegated five times from the Premier League. They’re also going to end this season bottom of the table for the first time in a top-flight campaign since 1973-74.

Burnley boss, Sean Dyche, knows how tough it is to stay in the Premier League. Of Norwich’s relegation he said:
“Norwich have had a tough time this season, but it doesn’t make them a bad side.
“It just makes them a side which has been trying to learn and trying to find a way through the Premier League.
“It’s very tough. Having been through it when we went down and then came back up, it’s very tough.
“So we don’t take anything for granted. We know we are going to have to earn the right once again and we’re going to have to do that by playing well.”
Norwich manager, Daniel Farke, praises the consistency and resilience of Burnley saying:
“Burnley have shown so much consistency and resilience with one loss in 14 games, so it won’t be easy.
“It’s important to be ourselves. Our ideas are different and we want to play on the front foot.
“They are role models for going down and coming back up. I’m full of praise for Sean’s work. They proved you can come back stronger. Jurgen Klopp was promoted with Mainz, then got relegated, but now look where he and they are.
“Next time we will try to be better prepared and stay for longer.”
Chris Wood will be the dangerman for Burnley today. In his last three league games against Norwich, Wood has notched up four goals.
Recent form…
Norwich have been in rotten form since the Premier League restarted. They’ve lost all seven games and scored just once in a 2-1 defeat to Watford at the start of July.
In contrast Burnley have lost just once since the restart going down 5-0 to Man City in their first game back. Since then they are unbeaten in six game recording wins over Watford, Crystal Palace and West Ham.
You have to go back as far as October 2006 to find Burnley’s last victory at Carrow Road (4-1 in the Championship)
The last time Norwich hosted Burnley in the top-flight was in January 1976 when they came away with a 3-1 victory.
Norwich are already relegated and Burnley have safely secured a midtable spot but there are a couple of things still to play for.
With a quick turnaround between the end of the 2019/20 season and the start of the 2020/21 season, Burnley will want to extend their unbeaten run to seven games and take that momentum with them into next season.
For Norwich they can claw back a bit of pride in an otherwise disappointing season if they finish with back-to-back wins.
Early team news
Norwich are without Sam Byram, Grant Hanley and Moritz Leitner as they are all still injured. Christoph Zimmermann is back in training and may be fit enough for a spot on the bench.
Burnley are still inundated with injuries and contract problems. They’re missing Ashley Barnes, Ben Mee, Matt Lowton, Jack Cork and Charlie Taylor.
Jay Rodriguez should be fit after a tight calf saw he subbed off against Wolves.
