Noel Gallagher wants petition for Foo Fighters to break up after band calls for Oasis reunion

Noel Gallagher has responded to the Foo Fighters’ comments regarding Oasis’s split, saying he wanted to start a petition to get the American rock band to break up.

As shown in fan footage posted online, Gallagher made the comments during a gig in Chula Vista, California, asking the crowd: “Any Oasis fans in the house?

“Is anyone going to sign the petition Dave Grohl wants to [start] for us to get back together?”

The audience cheered in response, but Gallagher added: “I’d like to start a petition to get the Foo Fighters to split up” – eliciting laughter from the crowd.

Gallagher was reacting to comments made last week by the Foo Fighters during their show at the Reading Festival.

“One of these days we’ll get Oasis back. One of these days,” Hawkins said.

Grohl added: “We’re trying.”

Hawkins then suggested: “Let’s sign a petition, everyone here, OK?”

It’s been 10 years since Oasis split up just minutes before they were supposed to perform at the Rock en Seine festival near Paris, France.

Noel Gallagher is currently touring with The Smashing Pumpkins in America and will join U2 on the road in November. His band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, will release their third EP of 2019, This Is The Place, in September.
