Noel Gallagher teases Oasis: The Musical is ‘inevitable’ as fans mourn 10 years since band split

Noel and Liam may find themselves reunited – for an Oasis musical

An Oasis reunion may be a pipe dream but fans can still hold out for a musical, thanks to Noel Gallagher teasing a future stage show.

Fans are marking the 10th anniversary since Oasis dramatically split on 28 August 2009 due to the scathing feud between Noel, 52, and Liam, 46, reaching fever pitch while on their world tour.

Noel famously stormed off the tour after a reported fight with his younger brother backstage but he’s not closing the door on Oasis completely, it seems.

According to the former High Flying Birds frontman, talk of an Oasis musical has been discussed behind-the-scenes and he’s confident it will see the light of day – one day.

Speaking to The Sun, Noel revealed: ‘The musical! People have been on to me about that for the last 10 years. And funnily enough Live Forever is always the title.’

The possibility of a stage show seems to be more than just frivolous talk, as Noel reveals he has spoken to an ‘English guy who works on Broadway who knows about these things’.

Recalling his conversation with the mystery ‘English guy’, Noel continued: ‘And he was like saying, “Your journey from rags to riches”.

‘And I was like, “Do you have to make it so Dickensian? I never wore any rags”. People do love that s**t, I know. It’s inevitable it will happen one day. I will go and see it once.’

The revelation comes after Noel’s estranged brother Liam reflected on the 10th anniversary of Oasis’ devastating break-up.

During his appearance on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, the former Beady Eye star said of his older sibling: ‘Shame on him. I wonder where he is in the world. I bet he’s hiding in a cupboard somewhere in a really dark room.

‘I can’t believe it, mate. All was good in the world back then. 10 years ago, all was good in the world, and now it’s all went, you know… But I think we’re doing alright again, so it’s all good in the world. These things are meant to happen.’
