Noel Gallagher says he didn’t vote in the General Election and hasn’t done since Tony Blair resigned in 2007.

The Oasis star opened up about the results, seeing the Conservative Party win after crossing the 326-seat threshold.

And it turns out neither Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn were persuasive enough to convince the guitarist to get down to the polling station on 12 December.

When appearing on The One Show, the 52-year-old said: ‘We were out last night but we got in for the exit poll and it was a pity they all didn’t lose, I think.

‘But at least it has been decisive I guess one way or another, I thought it would be a hung parliament.’

When asked if he voted, the singer added: ‘No, I chose not to vote. I had the Conservative Party at my house and when I opened the door, the guy almost ran up the street.

‘I haven’t voted since Tony Blair resigned – none of them appeal to me. Boris doesn’t Corbyn doesn’t, my vote is not to vote.’

As polling stations opened in the morning, celebrities from all over flocked to Twitter where they urged their fans to vote.

Love Island winner Amber Gill wrote to her followers: ‘So I’m not going to lie I was kind of feeling fragile today and didn’t want a fight on twitter so tried to be impartial but I just had a shower & remembered I’m 100% that b**ch so #VoteLabourToday.’

The former islander added: ‘Please remember to vote TODAY it is so important. Vote for whatever you feel is right in your heart.’

While Stormzy had some less than friendly words for Boris.

‘I know a lot of people are saying “Go vote,” and it can seem like just bulls*** but hear me out,’ the 26-year-old said.

‘Man’s never voted. Man’s always looked at politicians and thought “You guys are f***ing everything up. Man don’t trust you lot. You lot don’t do nothing for man and my community and my circumstance and my mum’s circumstance.”’

Stormzy explained: ‘But for the first time in my 26 years of life, there’s a man that man trusts. And I wouldn’t do all of this, I wouldn’t use my platform, my voice to say that to you guys if I didn’t whole-heartedly…’

He went on to say: ‘It’s very clear as day, personally for me it’s very clear-cut. Jeremy Corbyn is a man of hope, a man of justice, a man of equality, and the other guy’s a f***ing p***k so don’t be stupid.

‘Go use your vote. Serious.’
