No Time To Die: 4 times Daniel Craig has taught us a thing or two about style

There’s are several reasons for the buzz surrounding the upcoming film No Time To Die, the latest in the James Bond franchise.

First, the script has been co-written by Britain’s national sweetheart, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, a.k.a the woman responsible for the outbreak of Fleabag fever which occurred earlier this year.

Second, this is Daniel Craig’s last ride at the rodeo. He has confirmed that this, his fifth time playing Bond, will be his last.

Needless to say that expectations are pretty high.

But its leading man, 51-year-old Craig, isn’t just a star of the silver screen, he’s also a walking-talking style success story.

His sartorial recipe can be distilled down to a limited colour palette, an arsenal of well-tailored suits and prioritising comfort.

Given that Tom Ford has been James Bond’s go-to tailor since the Quantum of Solace days, what Craig himself doesn’t know about slick and sharp tailoring, frankly isn’t worth knowing.

We’ve narrowed down his best fashion moves, so you can take a leaf out of his book.

Craig is a long-time fan of a grey suit, you can learn from him by investing in varying shades, from slate to concrete. A classic à la Craig hack is to wear a coloured shirt underneath for an extra dash of colour.

COS have some fantastic offerings, starting from £79 or, if your budget allows for it, consider a new season Tom Ford ensemble

Whichever you opt for, revel in grey’s mundanity: here’s a suit for life.

Loves a wooly

The concept of a male cardigan may connote visuals of the Grandpa from the film Up, more OAP than oh-so-chic, but not where Craig’s concerned: there’s been many a red-carpet moment where he opts for a chic woollen ensemble in place of a traditional jacket.

As long as it’s paired with a tailored bottom, there’s nothing wrong with a button-up.

But it’s not all suited and booted; for more dressed-down occasions, Craig understands the understated power that a leather jacket can have, choosing to wear his with casual tees and sharp jeans.

Club Monaco have Craig-esque jacket for £780, and Saint Laurent similarly have some sharp options.

It’s all about comfort over style anyway

Style’s important and all, but ultimately comfort is key, so keep the sharp tailoring, but wear it with some slick trainers. Generally speaking, the more box fresh the sneaker, the scruffier the outfit can be (although not in Craig’s case.)

Vegan sneaker brand Veja’s trainers are biodegradable (say no more) and slick to boot. Plus they’re only £120.
