Shut the bleep bleep bleep up!
Nintendo has launched a pricey video game-paired alarm clock that uses motion sensors to make sure you get out of bed — or else.
Alarmo, which retails for $99.99 and requires a connection to a Nintendo Switch’s online features, will turn your next early morning into a virtual adventure — complete with the sights and sounds of iconic games like Super Mario and the Legend of Zelda.
The first alarm will feature your choice of video game protagonists rooting you on to hop out from under the covers — while making noise until you do.
The journey begins with, for example, the sounds of Mario collecting coins in sync, while you fight to find the will to get up and at ’em. The longer you delay the inevitable, the more aggressive the playful apparatus will get.
Nintendo’s promo showed the evil and mighty Bowser appearing after a 20-minute window.
And, the boisterous device delivers one final treat as well.
“When you get all the way out of bed, the alarm will stop and you’ll be treated to a brief victory fanfare—hoorah!” Nintendo stated.
Alarmo, which can also track sleep plus create ambient noises during the day and evening, was unveiled Wednesday for Switch online members only before the full rollout in 2025.
The Rockefeller Center Nintendo store was also selling the clever clock — but as of Thursday morning was fully out of stock, an X user reported.
