Nintendo update fixes THIS confusing Switch problem – Check out the full patch notes

Nintendo Switch owners can download a brand new update for the console.

Nintendo Switch update 9.0.1 can be downloaded next time you turn on the console.

If you don’t see a prompt, just visit the settings and check for the new system update.

According to the update 9.0.1 patch notes, the latest Nintendo Switch releases fixes a potentially confusing problem.

Switch Lite owners may have come across a prompt to remove the Joy-Con during the initial setup process.

This instruction is a bit of a head scratcher, because you can’t remove the Joy-Cons from the handheld-only Switch Lite – that’s kind of the point.

Even better is a fix for an issue that may have triggered errors during gameplay.

Needless to say, it wouldn’t be a new Nintendo Switch update without some general stability improvements.

The full set of patch notes for Nintendo Switch update 9.0.1 can be seen below…

• General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience

• Resolved an issue that may have triggered errors during game play.

• Resolved an issue that may display an instruction to remove the Joy-Con during the initial setup of Nintendo Switch Lite.

The update comes hot off the heels of the release of the aforementioned Nintendo Switch Lite handheld device.

The Switch Lite is smaller and lighter than the regular Switch, making it perfect for those who only play games on the go.

The Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch screen compared to the 6.2-inch display found on the older model. It also boasts smaller overall dimensions to the Switch, weighing 20g less than its predecessor.

In addition to an improved battery, another big selling points is the price. The Switch Lite is £80 cheaper than the regular console.

The trade-off is the Switch Lite can’t be docked to play games on the TV like a regular Switch.
