Nintendo Switch could be getting a port of one of this generation’s best games, it has been suggested.
According to an illuminating post by Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry division, new reports have suggested that The Witcher 3 could be on its way to Nintendo Switch.
A retailer in China listed The Witcher 3 for Nintendo Switch, complete with full box art and even a special edition console.
When contacted by the website, developer CD Projekt refused to comment on the rumour – so they didn’t actually rule it out.
Of course, the biggest question is whether or not the Nintendo Switch could run a game that struggled on regular PS4 and Xbox One hardware at launch.
Digital Foundry believes that it would be a huge challenge, but one that a skilled studio such as CD Projekt Red could potentially handle.
The post reads” “It’s a massive challenge then but we can’t discount the quality CDPR consistently delivers – and of course, the studio has already proven how it can adapt its content to run on console, as we’ve seen with the remarkable Xbox 360 conversion of The Witcher 2 back in the day.”
Fingers crossed we find out more at Nintendo’s E3 Direct conference, which takes place on June 11 at 5pm UK time.
Nintendo should have lots to talk about during the presentation, despite already revealing fresh details about Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Announced at the end of the presentation, the upcoming Pokemon RPG will be available from November 15 on the Nintendo Switch.
The game will feature brand new Legendary Pocket Monsters named Zacian and Zamazenta.
Zacian will be the mascot for Pokemon Sword, while Zamazenta will feature on the cover of Pokemon Shield.
A new feature called Dynamaxing was also announced, which transform Pocket Monsters into huge beasts with powerful special moves.
Players will be able to capture unique Pokemon by exploring the wild areas between cities.
