Nintendo Direct SHOCK: Pokemon Direct live stream date and time REVEALED


A surprise Nintendo Direct conference has been announced for February 27.

With the annual Pokemon Day celebrations about to take place worldwide, Nintendo has announced plans to hold a special Pokemon Direct presentation for .

The Pokemon Direct will take place at 2pm UK time on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Nintendo, the Pokemon Direct will contain seven minutes of new information about the upcoming release.

“Tune in tomorrow, Wednesday 27th February at 14.00 GMT for roughly seven minutes of new information in a livestreamed Pokémon Direct presentation,” the post reads.

The Pokemon Direct will be broadcast live on the Nintendo website, as well as YouTube.

Fans will be hoping for some gameplay footage of the upcoming game, which is pencilled in for a 2019 release.

It’s also possible Nintendo will announce the Pokemon Switch release date during the live stream.

Nintendo isn’t the only company celebrating Pokemon Day.

Pokemon Go developer Niantic has announced plans to celebrate the day with an in-game event.

As part of the celebrations, Kanto Pokemon will appear more frequently.

“We love Pokemon and we know you do, too!” reads a Niantic post. “We would never pass up a chance to celebrate Pokemon. Pokemon Day happens every year on February 27. Do you know why this day is so special? It commemorates the launch of the first Pokémon video games in 1996.

“In celebration of #PokemonDay, we invited some familiar Pokemon originally discovered in the Kanto region to join us!”

The event runs from February 26 at 9pm GMT until the same time on February 28.

Kanto region Pokemon will also appear in Raids throughout the course of the event.

Likewise, Pikachu and Eevee wearing flower crowns will be available as Field Research rewards.

“In celebration of Pokemon Day, you may even encounter Shiny Pidgey and Shiny Rattata!” Niantic adds.
