The other reasons Nintendo fans are expecting a Direct in January is to do with Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Nintendo are yet to reveal the fifth and final DLC character for the first Super Smash Bros Ultimate Fighters Pass.
This DLC is set to drop in February, and time is running out for Nintendo to reveal which character is coming to Smash before the DLC’s release.
So, it seems likely that a Direct could happen in January which will reveal more about the Smash DLC ahead of its release the following month.
Looking at past broadcast schedules may give fans an idea of when the January 2020 Nintendo Direct could take place.
