Ninja’s wife and manager Jessica Blevins has opened up about how she saw him ‘losing himself’ before leaving Twitch.

The Fortnite legend had fans shocked when he announced he was leaving Twitch behind earlier this year to move to smaller platform Mixer.

While many, including PewDiePie claimed there was ‘a lot of money involved’ in the deal, Jessica said neither of them were even thinking about that side of it.

‘Money was the last thing on our mind,’ she told Business Insider. ‘It’s like, they don’t even know what went on behind the scenes and how hard we tried to make that deal work — and then how amazing Microsoft was for us.’

She went on to say that Tyler’s mental health factored into the decision in a big way.

‘I could tell as his wife, the last few months on Twitch, he just didn’t seem like the Ninja that I knew,’ Jessica said.

‘He didn’t seem as enthusiastic, as loud, as hyped up about wins and motivated to stream. It really seemed like he was kind of losing himself and his love for streaming.’

A spokesperson for Twitch told the site: ‘We’ve loved working with the Blevins family over the years, and we wish them the best.’

Despite the 28-year-old quickly racking up millions of subscribers on Mixer, his departure from Twitch wasn’t exactly smooth.

Soon after he left the site, he slammed them for ‘promoting porn’ on his old profile.

‘I’ve been streaming for eight years to build that brand and build that channel, 14.5million followers,’ he said in a video.

‘They were still using my channel to promote other streamers. Well now there was a porn account which was number one being recommended on my channel and I have no say in any of this stuff.

‘This is the line, this is the straw.’

It prompted a direct apology from the CEO of Twitch, who said there were ‘no excuses’.

Meanwhile, Tyler has been busy with his Adidas partnership and has recently hinted he’s headed for the big screen – all in a day’s work.
