NIGEL Farage said Jean-Claude Juncker is the “only person” who makes him feel “like I don’t have a drink problem” as he tore strips out of the EU chief in Sydney today.
Taking to the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Farage, who wants a no-deal Brexit, also said he wanted the UK free of Europe to “re-engage with its real friends in the world”.

Announced as “quite possibly” the the next British PM, the Brexit Party leader said of the EU’s outgoing president: “I like Mr Juncker. He’s the only person I know that makes me feel that I haven’t got a drink problem. I mean there’s having a glass of wine at lunch but crikey.”
The politician also branded Australia’s former PM Malcolm Turnbull a “snake” as he also slammed “trendy, metro, liberal elite” leaders like David Cameron.

As the UK’s exit from the EU looms closer, Farage made clear the intent of the Brexit Party should Britain’s new PM fail to deliver on a timely withdrawal from the EU.
He said: “Boris may not be 100 per cent nailed on to full independence for the United Kingdom but there is a new political reality.
“What the Brexit Party has done is to completely reset the political agenda in Britain.
“The conservative government now know that if we we don’t leave on the 31st of October, they as a political party, are finished.”
‘SNAKE’
Farage also spoke optimistically about trading around the world.
“Australia is right up there at the top of my personal list,” he said.
He said he wanted a complete re-balancing of where Britain was in the world, more engagement with commonwealth countries and fewer people forced into universities.
Farage, 55, has been a UK member of the European parliament for the past two decades and was a crucial figure in the 2016 Brexit referendum’s Leave campaign.

He claimed a right-wing revolt was shifting across the west against parties “masquerading” as conservative.
He said: “[Former conservative UK prime minister] David Cameron was someone who was not conservative at all but a part of the trendy, metro, liberal elite masquerading as a conservative.”
And ripping Turnbull, Farage was applauded by the 500-strong audience when he said: “Malcolm Turnbull … pretended to be a conservative but actually turned out to be a snake.”
Farage has urged Boris Johnson to do a deal with him to let his Brexit party win seats in Labour heartlands.
Last week he declared “we’re here to stay” despite claims that his new party could stop the Prime Minister from winning an election.
