Nicki Minaj is currently pregnant with her first child and her husband Kenneth Petty is determined to be there at their baby’s birth.
So much so, that Petty has reportedly submitted legal documents asking a judge to allow him to break his curfew hours – if need be – in order to present at his child’s birth.
TMZ reports Petty is asking for the terms of his pre-trial release conditions to be modified – allowing him to travel with Nicki occasionally on business as her manager and attend the birth of their baby when she goes into labour.
The rapper’s husband was arrested back in March for failing to register as a sex offender – his status is due to a previous rape conviction that saw him serve four years in prison back in 1995 – after moving from New York to LA.
Petty turned himself into authorities and pleaded not guilty. He was later released on $100,000 (£79k) bond and later registered as a sex offender in California.
The terms of his pre-trial release include a curfew and his travel is restricted to California.
The publication reports that Petty claims the US Attorney’s Office and pre-trial services haven’t opposed his request and he now needs a judge to sign off the request for him.

In April 1995, Petty was convicted of attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and sentence to 18-54 months in prison.
In 2018, Nicki publicly addressed Petty’s conviction, writing on social media: ‘He was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf Internet. y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life (sic).’
The pair know each other from growing up in Queens, New York and secretly married in October 2019, with Nicki later confirming she had tied the knot to fans.
Following months of speculation, Nicki confirmed her pregnancy in July by debuting her baby bump on Instagram, after dropping hints about pregnancy cravings and morning sickness on Twitter.
Speaking of morning sickness, the Anaconda hit-maker recently shared a snap of her in the early days of her pregnancy in Trinidad earlier this year.
She captioned it: ‘While I was in Trinidad earlier this year, I had the worst morning sickness of all time. Didn’t know morning sickness could last all day either?
‘But nevertheless, this is one of the pics I took b4 you could see my lil baby bump.’
