Nick Kyrgios goes from tennis bad boy to Mr Nice Guy after helping stranded woman

He has a well-earned reputation as tennis’ bad boy, the sports’ most spoilt star whose brat-like behaviour on court causes a stir in nearly every tournament he enters.

But perhaps we’ll have to re-think things after Nick Kyrgios’ act of kindness saved the day for a stranded woman.

The hot-headed Aussie, 23, offered a helping hand on Thursday to a woman whose car died in his hometown of Canberra.

Writer Simon Anderson, whose girlfriend was also a roadside hero, gave full details on Twitter and it quickly went viral.

“She and a mate passed a woman whose car had died,” he wrote.

“The woman asked them to help her push it home, which they did. A car pulled up next to them and asked if they needed a hand, which after a few beers, they did,.

“Guy hops out the car to help and it’s Nick Kyrgios . So my girlfriend, her mate and Nick Kyrgios push this woman’s car home.

“Despite being on the way home from training and then helping push a car down a Canberra street, he takes a pic with them and then gets back in the car and goes home. Nick Kyrgios : good guy.”

Kyrgios saw the story gaining attention on Twitter and humbly responded.

He’s been the fall guy so often in his career

“This sort of stuff shouldn’t be noticed, it’s an everyday thing, anytime,” he wrote, with a heart emoji.

It’s some welcome nice headlines for the star after last month’s latest mid-match meltdown.

He faced sanctioning after making an explosive exit from the ATP Masters in Miami.

Kyrgios, who said he was bored during games, destroyed two racquets and clashed with the umpire.

He later yelled “f*** you man” to a spectator after being docked points.

“They paid money to see me play and they just screamed out ridiculous things, and I’m just not going to take it anymore,” Kyrgios said after.

“I played for 2 hours and 20 minutes and the guy yells at me: ‘Play some tennis!’

“I’m not going to take it, so I just said ‘F you’ to him.”
