Neymar to discuss PSG future and potential Barcelona transfer in coming hours

Neymar’s time at PSG could come to an end this summer with the 27-year-old eager to return to Barcelona.

The Samba star has come to regret his decision to leave the Catalan giants back in 2017, where he moved to the Parc des Princes in a £200million deal.

PSG chief Leonardo admitted to uncertainty surrounding Neymar’s future earlier this month, saying: “Only one thing is certain today: he is under contract with us for three years.

“And since we have not received an offer, there is nothing to discuss. We have not received any offers. But we have had, it is true, superficial contact [with Barcelona].

“They said they want to buy him but that we are not selling. It was [Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu] who said that.

“But we have not seen that Barcelona are truly in a position to buy him. A move of this magnitude is not just a question of emotions. It is a financial question.

“Neymar can leave PSG, if there is an offer which suits everyone. But up to now, we do not know if anyone wants to buy him, or at what price. It will not be done in a day, that’s for sure.”

And Brazilian outlet UOL claim Neymar is set to discuss his PSG future and links to Barcelona in the coming hours.

He supposedly filmed an interview on Thursday with Patricia Abravanel.

And he also filmed an exclusive interview with presenter Luis Ernesto Lacombe.

It will reportedly be broadcast on Brazilian TV early in the morning and is sure to make for blockbuster viewing.

Meanwhile, former Barcelona and Brazil star Rivaldo has endorsed his old employers’ pursuit of Neymar.

“It’s difficult because of the way Neymar left,” he said.

“I think a lot of the fans are angry with everything that happened, but football is how it is, football is good, and Neymar is a great player who has personality.

“So if he comes here of course there will be times when he is criticised by some fans.

“But in the games, the training sessions, Neymar will still be the same Neymar, and it could be something special for Barcelona.

“He should say sorry. Officially, yes. Say sorry, say he was wrong, say that this is his home, that he is going to be the difference.

“I think that all the fans… many will understand, they’ll see him on the pitch in the league, the Champions League, doing things well, and the fans will forgive him easily.

“If it’s like it was when he was here playing football before together with Messi and Suarez, it was great for the club.

“If they win the Champions League, I don’t think it will be a problem for the fans.”
