Neymar hit with x-rated chants on PSG return after failed Barcelona transfer


Neymar received an unwelcome response when we prepared to make his first start of the season for PSG.

The Brazilian was met with boos and whistles when his name was announced over the tannoy before their clash against Strasbourg.

PSG fans also chanted the forward was a ‘son of a b*****’ after nearly re-joining Barcelona this summer.

Neymar started behind the striker for the Ligue 1 fixture, to the anger of supporters.

The 27-year-old made no secret of his desire to leave the club France for his former club Barcelona in the summer.

The two giants failed to come to an agreement despite the player’s wishes, with Neymar now forced to stay at the club until January at the earliest.

Before the match PSG boss Thomas Tuchel gave supporters an update over the most expensive signing of all time, and said that he is ready to perform.

He said: “We have a big squad of players with character, talent and experience.

“Neymar is in the group, that is for sure. He can focus now.

“He needs to make his return as he is a PSG player, so he is in the squad for this one.

“It has not been easy for him in recent weeks, but that is life.

“We had the chance to speak on Thursday, but we are yet to speak today.

“My challenge is to speak with him about his position on the pitch when attacking and defending.”

In another blow for the former Santos forward, Barcelona chief Josep Maria Bartomeu ruled out a move in the winter transfer window.

He said: Neymar did what he had to to. He told his club about his decision, he did everything possible.

“But this year he will play at PSG, he cannot join Barcelona in January.”
